When I was little, we always made a halloween lantern out of a turnip, in the garden of the new house we found some lovely big squashes, one was the perfect shape, we had to make a lantern with it! The girls helped me get all of the seeds out and some of the yummy orange flesh for a very yummy soup. Next I cut out a face and we put a candle inside. So here he is, our scary halloween squash!!
As you can see below, the girls have been busy planting with Mummy and Daddy, so we have done some work from our science books about plants, here are some videos of the girls working:
