The body
Lately Jordi has been saying lots of new English words and phrases, surprising
us all with how quickly he learnt so many new things. He has also been extra
good at sitting down and doing his homework too, which means we can sit down
and directly learn new vocabulary as opposed to him learning the words via
context and listening. That said, it is important to teach in a
variety of ways. So I started with teaching Jordi the children song “Heads,
Shoulders, Knees and Toes”, and pointing the body parts the lyrics were referring
to. Then I drew Jordi a cartoon version of himself, which we both labelled.
Since we´ve done this activity, Jordi has started using most of the words in his
daily speech.
