Matilda

This week we started reading the novel Matilda by Roald Dahl. Everyday me Sara and Judit have spend some time taking turns to read chapters with Jordi enjoying listening along. The book is pretty advanced for Sara and Judits age and some of the language he uses can be confusing when reading it in English especially when this is a second language to you but this has also proved to be really educational as when we come to any part in the story the girls do not understand we stop and talk about it and constantly do catch ups at the end of every chapter making sure everyone is keeping up with the story. We have also been keeping daily pages in textbooks with the girls taking a brief summary of what we read that day and when the book is finished we can read over what they have and turn it into a small book report. Also you will see from the video not only the reading and talking levels the girls are achieving but also the writing standard which is amazing! The kids love this story so much that every day we read some it always ends with… just one more chapter please!!! Matilda is such a magical book by an amazing author and the girls can’t wait to read on and find out what happens.
